Royal Applause His Majesty Praises Gymnasiade Achievements

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa welcomed senior members of the Royal Family, officials, and achievers from the ISF Gymnasiade Bahrain 2024 during a reception at Al Sakhir Palace yesterday.

In his address, HM the King underscored the significance of such gatherings in fostering national unity and upholding the values of compassion and brotherhood that define Bahrain’s heritage.

Commending the success of the recently concluded Gymnasiade, His Majesty expressed his pride in Bahrain’s athletes, applauding their remarkable performances that brought international recognition to the Kingdom.

“We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the outstanding efforts and achievements of our sons and daughters, the ‘Champions of Bahrain,’ who excelled in their athletic performances and proudly raised Bahrain’s name high on the podiums of this significant sporting event,” His Majesty said.

Commitment

Acknowledging the leadership of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty praised their commitment to ensuring the success of the event.

He also expressed gratitude to the teams involved in organising the Gymnasiade, recognising their dedication and teamwork. Addressing the athletes directly, His Majesty lauded their embodiment of Bahrain’s values through their performances and hospitality, which left a positive impression on international guests.

“As ambassadors for our beloved nation, you embodied the values we hold dear,” he remarked. His Majesty expressed optimism for future successes and extended his congratulations to all winners.

Following the King’s speech, achievers and medal winners had the honour of meeting him personally. His Majesty reiterated his congratulations and wished them success in upcoming competitions.

H.E. Dr. Mohamed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education, expressed gratitude to His Majesty for his patronage and ongoing support for education, sports, and youth development.

Achievements

He noted the remarkable achievements of Bahrain’s athletes, who secured 66 medals, placing the nation fourth regionally and 13th globally.

The reception highlighted Bahrain’s progress under His Majesty’s leadership, with attendees expressing their appreciation for his continued dedication to advancing the nation’s education, sports, and infrastructure.

They wished Bahrain continued success and growth on regional and global stages.
