Bold steps to fast-track Bahrain’s digital transformation were on the table as the Capital Municipal Council welcomed the Chief Executive of the Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA), Mohammed Ali Al Qaed.

The gathering focused on improving municipal services and aligning them with Bahrain’s vision for modernising government operations. The session began with Engineer Saleh Tarada, Chairman of the Council, extending his welcome to Al Qaed.

Cooperation

He praised the cooperation between the council and the authority, expressing hope that their joint efforts would drive forward municipal services in a way that meets the needs of both citizens and residents. “Everyone has a role to play in the process of progress,” said Al Qaed, who thanked the council for its work in building strong connections with government bodies.

He emphasised the importance of listening to the public and institutional suggestions, which he described as crucial for speeding up digital changes and improving the way services are delivered.

Plans

During the meeting, the two sides discussed how to work together more effectively and examined plans to make services more accessible and efficient.

One idea on the table was to link municipal systems with national platforms, ensuring a smoother experience for the public. Engineer Tarada stressed that the council is ready to put forward the proposed ideas and bring them to life.

Digital services

He noted that advancing digital services will not only improve daily interactions for Bahrain’s residents but also reflect the country’s broader ambitions.

This gathering was part of the council’s efforts to work more closely with national organisations, an initiative led by its Public Relations and Media Committee under Deputy Chairperson Dr Khalood Al Qattan.

She remarked that the council is determined to move forward with plans to enhance digital services, ensuring they meet the needs of the community while improving how services are delivered.
