Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates have signed an executive programme for tourism cooperation for the period 2024-2028, as part of the ongoing efforts under the Bahraini-Emirati Joint Ministerial Committee.

The agreement was signed by Fatima bint Jaffar Al Sairafi, Bahrain’s Minister of Tourism, and Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy for the UAE, marking a significant step forward in enhancing bilateral ties in the tourism sector.

Al Sairafi emphasized the long-standing and historic relations between Bahrain and the UAE, which are guided by the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE. She also acknowledged the continued support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, for their role in fostering collaboration and achieving shared goals.

The minister described the executive programme as a key milestone in strengthening tourism cooperation between the two countries. She highlighted that it aims to promote sustainable growth in the tourism sector while enhancing the reputation of both nations as distinguished global tourism destinations.

The programme focuses on several critical areas, including joint promotional efforts to showcase each country’s unique tourism offerings, organizing specialized training programs to enhance skills in tourism and hospitality, and facilitating the exchange of expertise and knowledge. These initiatives are designed to deepen integration between the two nations’ tourism sectors and foster closer ties through collaboration.

Through this strategic cooperation, Bahrain and the UAE are set to unlock new opportunities for growth in the tourism industry, benefiting both nations while enhancing their positions on the global tourism map.
