Bahrain Drawn in Group C as Billie Jean King Cup Kicks Off

The stage is set for the Asia Group III Billie Jean King Cup qualifiers, hosted by the Bahrain Tennis Federation from November 26 to 30. The tournament, featuring 17 national teams, will take place on the federation’s courts at Bahrain Polytechnic in Isa Town.
Yesterday's draw placed Bahrain in Group C alongside Laos, Turkmenistan, and Saudi Arabia. The other groups are as follows:
- Group A: Vietnam, Brunei, Macau, and Northern Mariana Islands.
- Group B: Guam, Qatar, Nepal, and the Philippines.
- Group D: Maldives, Tajikistan, Bhutan, Iraq, and Myanmar.
The draw ceremony was attended by key figures, including Bahrain Tennis Federation Secretary-General Fouad Al-Ruwaihi, tournament referee Abe Shaikh, assistant referee Joey Khalil, and federation board member Mohammed Salman. Coaches and officials of the participating teams also witnessed the proceedings.
Competition Begins Today
Matches begin today at 9 a.m. on the Isa Town courts. Bahrain's national team, led by coach Kareem Abdulredha, features players Hajar Zaidan, Haneen Al-Najjar, Jennifer Heaton, and Ameena Abdulqader.
This marks the second consecutive year Bahrain has hosted the Billie Jean King Cup qualifiers. The federation’s success in organizing last year’s event earned them the honor of hosting again, highlighting Bahrain's growing prominence in the regional tennis scene.
With high stakes and fierce competition, the tournament promises an exciting week of tennis action in Isa Town.
