Dr Maryam Al Dhaen, Member of Parliament, has expressed her pride in the speech delivered by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa during a special session at the Parliament today. A member of the Parliamentary committee drafting the response to His Majesty's speech, the MP praised the address for reaffirming Bahrain’s commitment to its comprehensive development path, rooted in strategic planning and forward-looking aspirations.

“The speech reflected Bahrain’s ambitious vision, advancing the goals of Economic Vision 2030 and calling for the acceleration of Vision 2050 to solidify the Kingdom’s global position,” she stated.

Dr Al Dhaen highlighted His Majesty’s directives to strengthen Bahraini national identity while balancing openness and renewal. This, she said, ensures the sustainability of the nation’s security and natural resources, aligning with the leadership’s forward-thinking approach to integrating modern technologies like artificial intelligence to enhance citizens’ well-being.

Sporting Achievements

The MP commended Bahrain’s international sporting accomplishments, crediting the wise leadership for fostering a culture of excellence among the nation’s youth. Beyond championship victories, these successes have elevated Bahrain’s global reputation, showcasing the innovation and talent of its people.

Women Empowerment

Dr Al Dhaen emphasised Bahrain’s significant strides in empowering women, noting their increasing representation in leadership and their vital role across political, economic, and social spheres. Bahraini women, she added, have set a regional benchmark, demonstrating their capacity to contribute to the nation’s progress.

Gender balance remains a key focus, with legislative and policy measures aiming to create equitable opportunities for all citizens. This commitment, Dr Al Dhaen noted, is fundamental to achieving sustainable development and enhancing social welfare.

National Identity

Preserving Bahrain’s identity remains a cornerstone of the Kingdom’s vision for the future, according to Dr Al Dhaen. Efforts to maintain the nation’s authentic values and traditions are complemented by policies encouraging openness to global cultures. This approach, she said, strengthens societal cohesion while supporting Bahrain’s prosperity.

Dr Al Dhaen also praised the government, led by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for its dedication to improving citizens’ quality of life and advancing national development.

Commitment to Progress

Concluding her remarks, Dr Al Dhaen reaffirmed Parliament’s commitment to translating His Majesty’s vision into legislative action. She expressed hope that Bahrain would continue to be a model of development and prosperity, with a strong national identity, empowered women, and equitable opportunities for all.
