Princess Sabeeka opens Safia Kanoo’s art exhibition

Wife of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW) HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa patronised here yesterday the opening of the art exhibition for Bahraini artist Safia Kanoo, entitled “Impressions 2.”

Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) President Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, a number of those interested in the cultural affairs in the Kingdom of Bahrain and major artists attended the ceremony.

Shaikha Mai expressed thanks to HRH Princess Sabeeka for her constant support to art and great efforts at enriching the cultural movement in Bahrain.

She said that BACA would continue to upgrade the Bahraini fine art and shed light on Bahrain’s art movement, adding that Safia Kanoo represents Bahraini pioneering generation of artists who honoured the local fine art movement.

BACA holds Impressions 2 in the Art Centre until December 16 and it will showcase meditations of the artist over 35 years merging various artistic trends and fine art schools. 

About 32 years ago, the artist Safia Kanoo held her first exhibition “Impressions”. “Impressions 2” will depict a long way of creativity and nature simulation.
