Bahraini entrepreneurs awarded
Two Bahraini women have been honoured with prestigious entrepreneurship award for their achievements.
For the very first time, two Bahrain woman entrepreneurs, CEO of Ma Maison Interiors Feryal Abdulla Nass and CEO of Global Cargo Services Huda Janahi, have been awarded the ‘International Women’s Entrepreneurial Challenge’ for their success in accessing the global markets in addition to their efforts in the field of social responsibility towards the economic empowerment of women.
The IWEC was established in Barcelona in 2007 with the goal of connecting small and mid-size woman business-owners globally.
IWEC’s ninth annual conference was recently held in Istanbul under the banner of “Connecting Women Business Globally Driving through Women’s Economic Participation through the joint efforts of the IWEC in cooperation with the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce”.
The conference, attended by 150 woman entrepreneurs from 35 countries, was aimed at promoting women entrepreneurship on a global scale.
Business women from various regions were awarded while Nass and Janahi were the only Arab women to win the award this year.
Speaking to DT News, Nass and Janahi said that they would try to make Bahrain as the host for the awards next year.
They said that they were passionate about encouraging and supporting Bahraini businesswoman.
“Today, Bahraini women have a lot of opportunities, although the market is very tough but they need to be strong.
I believe that Bahraini women are strong and have a lot of potential. Youths have no excuse today not to enter the private sector, because the support for them is very strong,” she said.
