HM King attends fruitful GCC Summit in Riyadh
His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, along with the leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, participated in the final session of the 36th summit, chaired by Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, at Al Dereyah Palace in Riyadh yesterday.
GCC Secretary-General Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani read the final communiqué.
In his address to the session, His Majesty the King invited the GCC leaders on behalf of himself and the Kingdom of Bahrain’s people to the next GCC Summit in Bahrain to continue discussions into various developments of mutual concern to the Gulf communities.
HM the King expressed his gratitude to King Salman and his government and the brotherly Saudi people for their generous hospitality, which reflects the strong bonds among the GCC countries and their peoples.
HM King Hamad also shared his appreciation of King Salman’s wise chairmanship of the summit and positive effect in the resultant quality resolutions and outcomes for the sake of further development of the GCC drive to upgrade the fraternal ties and bolster the shared interests.
HM the King also expressed appreciation of the GCC Secretary-General, his assistants and General Secretariat staff, for their substantial efforts in the preparations for the summit and their contribution to its success, wishing all lasting good health and aspiring for further prosperity, security and welfare to the GCC countries and people.
HM the King bade farewell to King Salman, expressing gratitude and appreciation for the generous hospitality and gracious reception and praising the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for his chairmanship of the summit sessions.
HM King Hamad also bade farewell to the GCC leaders for their cooperation which led to the success of the summit and for their keenness on bolstering the GCC process to accomplish more achievements for the peoples.
Meanwhile, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa led the Royal team in receiving His Majesty the King on his return home from Riyadh.
His Majesty the King sent a message of gratitude and appreciation to Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, hailing the generous hospitality and welcoming reception accorded to His Majesty and the accompanying delegation, which reflects the true brotherly sentiments and strong fraternal bonds between the two countries and
