Bahraini women’s judicial strides hailed
Bahraini women have achieved outstanding strides in the judiciary, holding positions in various fields. According to latest statistics, six are working as judges in Bahraini courts, while a similar number of women are advocates at the Public Prosecution.
The figures were released as the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) hosted a ceremony marking the annual Bahraini Women’s Day. The event was attended by SJC Chairman, Cassation Court President Salim bin Mohammed Al-Kawari, Public Prosecutor Dr. Ali bin Fadhl Al-Bouinain and members of the judiciary.
The list of Bahraini women includes also 6 trainees enrolled at the Future Judges Project, 20 SJC researchers and 25 employees in various directorates.
Al-Kawari extended congratulations to HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW) on the occasion.
Addressing the ceremony at the SJC headquarters, he said that the annual event acknowledged women’s crucial role and landmark achievements under the reform project which was initiated by His Majesty the King.
He commented that women in the Kingdom succeeded in holding key positions as an active partner in society.
Dr. Al-Bouainain also paid tribute to Bahraini women who hold key positions in the economic, security, social and cultural sectors, in addition to the judiciary.
