The seventh edition of the Bahrain International Agricultural and Livestock Production Exhibition, "Mara'ee 2024," concluded today, drawing a large crowd of visitors from both Bahrain and abroad.

In this context, His Excellency Eng. Wael bin Nasser Al-Mubarak, Minister of Municipalities and Agriculture, emphasized that the royal patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of Bahrain, played a significant role in the success of the exhibition. He praised His Majesty's guidance in developing the exhibition, which supports efforts to enhance food security and increase its rates in Bahrain.

His Excellency pointed out that organizing the exhibition aligns with the directives of the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, who places great importance on food security. This is in line with the kingdom's commitment to achieving the United Nations' 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, which have been incorporated into the government program. Bahrain has focused on building the agricultural and livestock sectors through various programs and initiatives.

The Minister also expressed his gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the King's Representative for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs, President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, and Honorary President of the Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation, for facilitating the exhibition's organization at the Bahrain International Endurance Village, which positively contributed to its unique success.

He added that the "Mara'ee 2024" exhibition reflects the ministry’s efforts and plans to advance food security initiatives, noting that the agricultural and livestock production sectors are key to strengthening food security. Bahrain has been keen on developing this vital sector through investment, supporting farmers, adopting best practices and technologies, building capacity, exchanging experiences, and enhancing livestock production, in line with the National Strategy for Sustainable Agricultural Development. The ministry has also launched several initiatives that contribute to creating a comprehensive environment to achieve strategic goals related to food security.

For his part, Engineer Asim Abdul Latif, Undersecretary of the Ministry for Agriculture and Animal Wealth, stressed the ministry's commitment to organizing the Bahrain International Agricultural and Livestock Production Exhibition as a scientific, investment, technical, and recreational event, specializing in animal and agricultural production. This strengthens Bahrain’s position on the global map for specialized exhibitions and enhances its leadership role in this field.

The Undersecretary explained that the ministry continues to provide various types of support for the private sector’s involvement in the agricultural and livestock investment sectors, considering them essential partners in enhancing food security efforts and increasing food production. This edition showcased many successful experiences and provided opportunities for those interested in food security investment.

Abdul Latif also highlighted the exhibition's success in attracting companies and investors in agricultural and livestock production, commending the efforts of all the working committees that contributed to the success of the seventh edition of the exhibition.
