HM King deputises HH Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad to attend Bahraini Women’s Day celebration

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa issued a heartfelt address on the occasion of Bahraini Women’s Day, expressing gratitude to Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa for her leadership in empowering women. HM the King highlighted the pivotal role Bahraini women have played in the nation’s development, dating back to their participation in municipal elections in the 1920s and continuing through their leadership in various sectors today.
During a celebration at the Bahrain National Theatre, attended by HH Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa on behalf of HM the King, key achievements of Bahraini women were honoured, including the launch of the "Bahraini Women’s e-Platform." The platform, designed to document and celebrate women leaders, was unveiled alongside a documentary exhibition showcasing the historical milestones of Bahraini women.
In a speech delivered by HH Shaikha Hessa bint Khalifa Al Khalifa, HRH Princess Sabeeka highlighted the council’s progress under HM the King’s vision. “Bahraini women have transitioned from empowerment to leadership, making global strides while honouring their roles as mothers and educators,” she noted.
The event also celebrated the upcoming National Day and the Silver Jubilee of HM King Hamad's Accession, reaffirming the Kingdom’s commitment to ensuring women remain integral partners in progress.
A special performance, "I Read .. Learned .. Participated," underscored the theme of this year’s celebration, reflecting on Bahraini women’s journey from education to leadership.
