Rangoon Srap: Jaleelio’s Literary Gem Set to be Launched Today

Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam will today host the launch of ‘Rangoon Srap’, a novel by noted author and advocate Abdul Jaleel Abdulla, known by his pen name ‘Jaleelio’.

Scheduled at 7.30 pm, the event forms part of the BKS-DC International Book Fair and Cultural Fest, which is running from November 28th to December 8th.

The launch will see an array of speakers, including writer and journalist Unni Balakrishnan, BRAVE Combat Federation President Mohammed Shahid, writer Lijeesh Kumar, and poet and lyricist Rafeeq Thiruvalloor who is popularly known as ‘Umbachi’, sharing insights into the book and its themes.

The event will also feature contributions from cultural figures BKS President P.V. Radhakrishnan Pillai, reflecting the literary and cultural vibrancy of the community.

Organised by the Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam in collaboration with DC Books, the cultural fest celebrates creativity and storytelling, offering a platform for authors, critics, and readers to engage.

With its vibrant mix of events, the fair aims to foster a love for literature and a spirit of cultural exchange.

Jaleelio’s ‘Rangoon Srap’, with its evocative storytelling, is expected to draw significant attention, reinforcing Bahrain’s role as a hub for literary dialogue and cultural celebration.

This year’s book festival is set to conclude on December 8th, marking yet another milestone in the region’s cultural calendar.
