The Bahraini-German Symposium, titled "Utilizing Talents in an Evolving Economy," organized by the German-Saudi Arabian Liaison Office for Economic Affairs (GESALO) in collaboration with the Applied Science University (ASU), brought together over 100 students and industry leaders to discuss workforce integration and innovative technology.

Held at the ASU premises in Bahrain, the event featured two engaging panel discussions moderated by Dr. Dalia Samra-Rohte, Delegate of the German Industry for Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Yemen. The panels explored crucial topics, including the application of German technology in the education sector, artificial intelligence, and effective recruitment processes.

The symposium was inaugurated by Professor Waheeb Al Khaja, Chairman of the Board of Trustees at ASU and Board Member of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce, alongside German Ambassador H.E. Clemens Hach.

Dr. Samra-Rohte emphasized the event's significance, stating, "In a transforming world, the exchange and application of innovative technology in the education sector have become even more critical. This symposium provided Bahraini students with an invaluable platform to interact with German industry leaders and learn from their expertise."

Representatives from Siemens, BASF, SAP, and RMA Technologies participated in the discussions, offering insights into the skills needed for today’s job market. The event also celebrated Bahraini Women’s Day, highlighting industry programs that support female workforce integration and recognizing the achievements of women in the workplace.

With plans for expanded collaboration between GESALO and ASU, this symposium marked a significant step towards bridging academia and industry to prepare Bahrain’s next generation for a competitive global economy.
