In collaboration with the British Embassy in Bahrain, the Youth Pioneer Society held a reunion event on Wednesday, the 27th of November, for graduates of the “Young Parliamentarian Programme”, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the programme’s launch.
The event commenced with a speech by H.E. Alastair Long, British Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain, during which he noted that he was delighted the British Embassy was able to support youth empowerment initiatives in Bahrain in collaboration with Youth Pioneer Society to deliver this programme for the fifth year.
He added that this excellent programme provided Bahraini young women and men with an opportunity to build a range of skills to help them to achieve their ambitions and advance their careers.
The event featured a speech by one of the founding members of Youth Pioneer Society, Saud Al-Buainain, and remarks from programme graduates Yasmin Youssef, Mais Al-Jama, and Firas Al-Alam, who shared how this programme has transformed them.
The reunion event was attended by the British Deputy Ambassador, Mrs. Fiona Walker-Doyle, a number of Embassy officials, as well as representatives from the Council of Representatives, government departments, trainers, and graduates of the Youth Parliament Program.
