Expatriates working in Bahrain’s private sector have a reason to celebrate as the Kingdom rolls out a progressive system to ensure their financial security upon job termination.
As per the new system, non-Bahraini workers will benefit from a streamlined end-of-service indemnity (EOSI) system, marking a significant milestone in labour rights reform.
The new mechanism guarantees that expatriates receive their accumulated benefits promptly, eliminating traditional delays. With employers now required to contribute monthly to the Social Insurance Organization (SIO), this initiative is set to transform the way indemnity payments are handled.

Effortless Claims

For many expatriates, navigating administrative procedures has often been a daunting task. The SIO has simplified this process through an intuitive online system. Upon job termination and registration with the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA), workers can claim their benefits in a few straightforward steps at SIO’s e-services (www.sio.gov.bh)

1. Access the "e-services" section on the SIO website (www.sio.gov.bh).
2. Authenticate with an advanced e-key login.
3. Verify and update their International Bank Account Number (IBAN).
4. Submit an application under the ‘Non-Bahraini EOS Allowance’ category.
The system ensures that even complex details, such as attaching proof of IBAN in PDF format, are made accessible and efficient.

A Landmark Reform

This announcement signals a new era for expatriate workers in Bahrain. By centralising payments through the SIO, the Kingdom is reinforcing its commitment to fairness, transparency, and the financial well-being of its expatriate community.
A detailed guide to the new process is available on the SIO website, providing workers with a clear pathway to secure their entitlements. For many, this reform brings not just financial relief but also a renewed sense of inclusion in Bahrain’s evolving workforce landscape.
