Exciting Matches Mark the Start of the Main Round at the ITF Junior Tennis Championship

Today, a series of thrilling matches took place in the main round (Round of 32) of the International Tennis Federation (ITF) Junior Tennis Championship "J60," organized by the Bahrain Tennis Federation from December 2 to 8.
In the boys' singles, six matches were held. Canadian player Edward Krop advanced to the Round of 16 after defeating Bahrain’s Fares Al-Tubaily 2/6, 7/6(2), 6/3. Bahraini Ahmad Al-Sayed lost to Greek player Iason Lykos 6/2, 6/1. Austrian Maximilian Heidlemir also made it to the next round, defeating third-seeded Turkish player Bugra Ozkoc 7/6(5), 3/2 after Ozkoc withdrew due to injury.
Serbian Matija Potic easily defeated Turkish player Kaya Kankardis 6/1, 6/1, while Turkish player Skender Nasiri triumphed over compatriot Erkut Aydin 6/0, 6/2.
Macedonian player Ammar Husinovic advanced to the Round of 16 with a 6/3, 6/4 win over Kazakhstan’s Ivan Bonumarev. Turkish player Kerem Tufekci won against Italy’s Mattia Silvatori 6/3, 6/2, while British player Alexander Daskalovich triumphed 6/1, 6/0. Saudi Arabia’s Isa Ali progressed after defeating Russia’s Daniel Tikatchenko 6/7, 7/5, 7/5, and Turkish player Imran Bolut beat Romania’s Matii Suku 6/2, 6/3.
In the girls' singles, Bahrain’s Victoria Laki advanced after defeating Qatar’s Hind Al-Mudhahki 6/4, 6/0. Other notable results included American Aiva Khalil’s 3/6, 6/4, 7/6(7) victory over Romania’s Simona Soku, while British player Maria Ostic moved on after beating Turkey’s Seda Ulurin 6/2, 7/6(4). Cypriot Maria Portselan advanced after defeating Netherlands’ Dallas Janssen 7/5, 6/1, while Turkish player Yasmin Balivan triumphed over Italy’s Giulia Fiorenza 6/3, 6/3.
Russian Alina Yuneva defeated Latvian Aleksandra Rozkalina 6/3, 6/2, and Turkish Sim Sebehan Oglu beat Oman’s Aisha Al-Busaidi 6/2, 6/0. Turkish Elissa Toklu advanced after a 6/3, 1/6, 6/0 win over Romania’s Maria Matias, while Turkish Della Izgi defeated British Maria Nicole 7/6(5), 6/3. Syrian player Lea Baroudi made it to the next round after a 6/2, 6/2 win over Finland’s Anisia Hamoud.
Tomorrow's Matches
Tomorrow, the Round of 16 in the boys' and girls' singles competitions will begin, along with the quarterfinals of the doubles events. Matches will start at 9:30 AM and will take place at the Bahrain Tennis Federation courts at the Bahrain Polytechnic University in Isa Town.
