National health insurance scheme rollout next year

Health Minister Dr Jaleela Al Sayed has revealed updates on the implementation of Bahrain’s national health insurance scheme, confirming a phased rollout aimed at providing a high-quality, integrated healthcare system.
The scheme is expected to be launched for residents in 2025.
Addressing a parliamentary question from MP Mohammed Al Balushi, the Minister stated that the Supreme Council of Health is working on implementing the programme in accordance with the Health Insurance Law No. 23 of 2018.
Implementation will be gradual, coordinated with relevant government bodies and healthcare insurance experts.
The mandatory health insurance for citizens will encompass 19 packages offering diverse services, including medical examinations.
