Primary School Teacher Dismissed After Severe Abuse Incident Uncovered During Routine Inspection

A primary school teacher has been sacked after the Ministry of Education discovered an incident of severe physical abuse against a young student during a routine inspection, the ministry said in a statement on Wednesday.
The ministry’s internal investigation confirmed the allegations, leading to the immediate dismissal of the teacher this month.
Officials reiterated that physical and verbal punishment of any kind is strictly banned in all educational settings, regardless of the circumstances. They stressed that protecting the safety, well-being, and mental and physical health of students remains their foremost priority.
‘Schools, whether public or private, are expected to provide a safe and supportive environment for all pupils,’ the ministry stated. ‘There is no place for any form of violence in education, and we will continue to keep a close watch on all institutions to ensure these standards are upheld.’
