The High Appeals Court has begun hearing the case of an Asian man sentenced to 10 years imprisonment for human trafficking and sexual assault.

The defendant, who pleaded guilty, forced two Asian women into prostitution and sexually assaulted one without her consent.

Evidence presented included a ledger detailing his earnings from the women’s forced prostitution, with each victim’s name and client records meticulously documented.

Prostitution

The case came to light following a report from a foreign embassy in Bahrain, alleging that a woman was being held against her will in a furnished apartment and forced into prostitution.

Police subsequently apprehended the defendant and rescued the victim, along with a second woman.

Both victims reportedly came to Bahrain under the false pretense of employment opportunities.

The defendant, upon meeting the women, confined them to an apartment in the Juffair area and compelled them into prostitution, using both physical and psychological coercion to extract financial gain.
