The Philippine Embassy has organised activities held at its premises in observance of the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW).

The activities began with a flag-raising ceremony followed by the recitation of the VAW prayer. In her remarks on the occasion, Her Excellency Anne Jalando-on Louis, the Philippines’ Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain, noted that the annual Philippine Anti-VAW Campaign is in support of the Nations’ initiative “UNiTE by 2030 to End VAW”, which was launched by the United Nations Secretary-General in 2008 to promote a world free from all forms of violence against women and girls.

The program also included a Zumba exercise led by the Filipino community group, Filipino Club Dance Crew, and a walk within the Embassy’s premises.

The program was attended by the Embassy’s personnel and their dependents and around 50 members of the Filipino community, including Filipino women who are being assisted by the Embassy.
