Bahrain Interior Minister Oversees Graduation Ceremony for Forensic Specialists Training Program

Bahrain’s Interior Minister, His Excellency General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, presided over the graduation ceremony for participants in a specialized forensic training program. The event was attended by senior officials from the Ministry of Interior, the United Kingdom Ambassador to Bahrain, and the Assistant Chief Constable of Durham Police, UK.
The program is part of a comprehensive series of training initiatives conducted in collaboration with the Royal Academy of Police and Durham Police in the United Kingdom. It aims to enhance the skills and capabilities of forensic specialists to support their professional performance. The training includes modules on crime scene investigation, fingerprint analysis, and specialized workshops, along with a train-the-trainer course to ensure the program’s sustainability.
In his address, the Minister of Interior emphasized the pivotal role of advanced technology and artificial intelligence in delivering precise and efficient security services. He underscored the importance of adopting modern methodologies and leveraging advanced technologies in evidence collection, particularly in the shift towards physical and digital evidence to uphold the principles of criminal justice.

He further highlighted the need to continuously update training programs to improve security operations and prepare law enforcement officers to respond effectively to evolving challenges with high competence and readiness.
Speaking at the ceremony, Major General Tariq Al Hassan, Chief of Public Security, commended the Royal Academy of Police for being a cornerstone in developing leadership and specialized police capabilities under the guidance of the Interior Minister. He described the collaboration with Durham Police as a testament to the Minister’s vision for modernizing Bahrain’s police force to meet regional and global standards in law enforcement.
Assistant Chief Constable John McAdam of Durham Police lauded the collaborative efforts, noting the program's six-year timeline. He praised Bahrain’s Ministry of Interior for its expertise and contributions to achieving the program’s shared goals, ensuring that the training prepares officers to meet contemporary policing demands.
A documentary was showcased during the event, highlighting the training programs and their objectives. These initiatives stem from a Memorandum of Understanding signed in July 2018 between the Ministry of Interior and Durham Police. The agreement established four internationally accredited advanced training programs to bolster the ministry’s specialized capabilities in line with modern policing challenges.
The Minister concluded the ceremony by presenting certificates to the program’s graduates, expressing gratitude to Durham Police for their expertise and to the Royal Academy of Police for its outstanding contributions as a premier training institution. He wished the graduates continued success in their careers, reaffirming the ministry’s commitment to excellence in service to the nation.
