Drunk man stabs roommate to death following argument

Drunk and brandishing a knife, a 23-year-old man killed his roommate in a vicious confrontation before fleeing the scene and discarding the weapon.
The tragedy unfolded in a shared accommodation, where the victim had been sitting in his room.
A colleague entered, sparking an argument that escalated into an exchange of insults.
The colleague left, but an hour later, the suspect returned, visibly intoxicated and reeking of alcohol, knife in hand.
Standing at the doorway, he demanded to know who had insulted his mother.
Confrontation
When the victim repeated the insult, the confrontation turned physical.
As a witness attempted to separate the pair, the suspect slashed the victim’s hand with the knife and stormed out.
Moments later, he returned, and the victim, in a bid to de-escalate, asked him to leave. Instead, the suspect lunged at him, driving the knife into his chest before fleeing.
The witness tried to save the victim, but he succumbed to his injuries within minutes.
