A Bahraini man’s attempt to regain custody of his two daughters by fabricating accusations against his ex-wife has been thwarted by the courts.

The father, in a bid to avoid child support payments and gain custody, falsely accused his ex-wife of neglect, endangering the children, and engaging in an inappropriate relationship with a foreign national.

According to details provided by lawyer Ibrahim Khalil, representing the ex-wife, the father filed a lawsuit seeking to revoke his ex-wife’s custody and gain custody himself.

His claims included allegations of the mother’s negligence in caring for the children, in addition to the alleged expulsion of one daughter from the home, and the presence of a foreign man residing with the mother and daughters, allegedly abusing the children.

He also sought to annul a previously agreed-upon child support agreement reached through the Family Reconciliation Office, covering food, clothing, shelter, and education.

Following their divorce, the mother was granted custody and child support. The parties had subsequently agreed on monthly payments for the children’s needs through the Family Reconciliation Office.
