Drugs were sold across the Kingdom for just one dinar per drop-off. The mastermind behind this dark trade was a man who worked as a barber during the day. Police said they arrested the man, who was running a 300-location drug network across Bahrain, based on a tipoff they received. Cops said the man was selling drugs using a ‘dead drop’ technique, where narcotics were left in hidden spots for buyers to collect.
He also had accomplices abroad. The suspect was apprehended in his car in a residential area, appearing intoxicated. Upon searching him, officers found two medium-sized bags of drugs and a glass bottle containing a suspicious liquid. Further inspection of the car uncovered a trove of illegal items, including CBD narcotic liquid, herbal drugs, wraps, plastic bags containing white powders, a precision scale, adhesive tape, and a syringe bearing traces of drugs.
Hidden in the boot was a box filled with more illegal substances. Later, police discovered additional stashes of drugs and another precision scale tucked beneath his bed at his home. During interrogation, the man confessed to stashing narcotics in around 300 locations across Bahrain, earning a dinar for each drop-off.
As part of the arrangement, he also received partial rent payments and free narcotics for his use. Forensic analysis of his phone uncovered a series of conversations, including images and videos of drugs marked with specific symbols, as well as evidence of money transfers linked to the trade. The Public Prosecution has charged the man with possession, sale, and use of illegal substances for both trafficking and personal use. The case will be heard in the First High Criminal Court on 10 December, with the accused remaining in custody until then.
