The High Appeals Court has announced a reduced sentence for a 30-year-old man previously convicted of supplying manufactured hashish to a minor. Initially sentenced to five years in prison and fined BD3,000, the court has now reduced his imprisonment to three years.
The case revolves around the testimony of the victim’s mother, who discovered her 15-year-old son in an altered state, leading her to suspect drug use. Concerned for his well-being, she took him to Salmaniya Medical Complex, where he revealed he had been with the defendant and three others in a vehicle.

He claimed they forced him to use an e-cigarette containing CBD and provided him with substances including lorazepam, hashish, and shabu (methamphetamine). However, the mother expressed skepticism, noting her son’s history of experimenting with drugs.
