The High Criminal Court has scheduled a hearing for December 23, 2024, in a case involving a highway robbery targeting a Gulf national.

One defendant is implicated in the case and is in police custody.

The Public Prosecution alleges that in 2024, the defendant and two unidentified accomplices robbed the victim while he was driving.

The victim reported that he had become lost while returning to his home country and asked the defendant, who was with two others in a vehicle, for directions to the King Fahd Causeway.

Testimony

According to the victim’s testimony, the defendant stopped his vehicle in front of the victim’s car, forcing him to stop.

The three individuals then exited their vehicle, approached the victim’s car, and assaulted him.

One accomplice stole the victim’s belongings and documents while the defendant attacked him.

The victim managed to escape, but the assailants pursued him, causing a collision before fleeing the scene.

Damage

The victim’s car sustained significant front-end damage, including to the bumper, license plate, grill, and hood, as evidenced by photographs and a crime scene report.

His clothing was also soiled, consistent with his account of the collision.

The prosecution also alleges the defendant subsequently stole a mobile phone from the victim and sold it to a mobile phone store owner. The store owner testified that the defendant attempted to sell him an iPhone 13 on July 2, 2024.
