His Excellency Eng. Ibrahim bin Hassan Al-Hawaj, Minister of Works, has officially inaugurated the expansion of Street 105, a critical component of the Muharraq Ring Road project designed to improve traffic flow between Street 105 and the Sheikh Isa bin Salman Bridge.
Eng. Al-Hawaj said that the project involves a partial expansion spanning one kilometre, from the intersection of Street 105 and Street 9 to the Shaikh Isa bin Salman Bridge.
The expansion upgrades the road to two lanes in each direction, catering to the residential needs of the Busaiteen area (Al Sayah) and providing an alternative to Al Ghous Street for traffic heading towards the Shaikh Isa bin Salman Bridge.
The Minister emphasised that the Muharraq Ring Road project is one of the most significant strategic initiatives currently under implementation by the Ministry of Works.
With advanced completion rates, the road is expected to open to traffic soon, while supplementary works will be finalized next year. The development encompasses 8.5 kilometres of main roadways with four lanes in each direction, along with 3 kilometres of secondary roads to improve connectivity to key areas.
