Interior Minister attends graduation of specialised forensic training programme

General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Bahrain’s Minister of Interior, attended the graduation ceremony for participants in a specialized forensic training programme, held at the Royal Academy of Police. The ceremony was also graced by senior Ministry of Interior officials, the United Kingdom Ambassador to Bahrain, and John McAdam, Assistant Chief Constable of Durham Constabulary.
The forensic training programme, a collaborative initiative between the Royal Academy of Police and Durham Constabulary, is designed to enhance the skills of forensic specialists. The comprehensive programme covers various aspects of forensic science, including crime scene investigation, fingerprint analysis, and specialized modules. It also includes training techniques that equip participants with the ability to train others, ensuring the sustainability and growth of the programme.
During the ceremony, Gen. Shaikh Rashid emphasized the importance of integrating advanced technologies and artificial intelligence into security operations. He stressed that these innovations will improve precision and efficiency in criminal investigations, highlighting the need for modern practices in evidence collection. The minister also underscored the role of physical and digital evidence in supporting criminal justice.
The Minister further reiterated the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to modernize and update security operations to address evolving challenges. He emphasized the necessity of training officers to meet these challenges with the highest levels of competency and readiness.
Major General Tariq Al Hassan, Chief of Public Security, praised the Royal Academy of Police for its role in preparing and developing highly qualified personnel to lead and enhance Bahrain’s security and policing efforts. He also noted that the successful completion of these training projects is part of the Ministry’s larger strategy to modernize the Bahrain Police Force and ensure the provision of top-notch services to maintain public safety.
John McAdam of Durham Constabulary commended the fruitful six-year collaboration with the Ministry of Interior. He praised the Ministry’s dedication and expertise, which have been crucial in achieving the shared goals of the training initiatives.
A documentary showcasing the training projects under the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed in July 2018 between the Ministry of Interior and Durham Constabulary was also screened. The MoU aims to provide four advanced, internationally accredited training programmes to enhance the capabilities of Bahrain’s Ministry of Interior personnel.
At the ceremony’s conclusion, Gen. Shaikh Rashid presented certificates to the graduates and expressed his gratitude to Durham Constabulary for their valuable contributions. He also thanked the Royal Academy of Police for its role in the development and training of Bahrain’s security personnel. The Minister wished the graduates continued success in their service to the Kingdom.
