The Minister emphasized the significance of the decision in opening new horizons for exporting local products and establishing Bahrain as a global player in the burgeoning halal industry.
HE Al Mubarak noted that the halal industry is one of the world's most promising sectors, witnessing increasing demand for halal food and other products globally. He stated that the decision aims to establish a comprehensive regulatory framework, including the creation of a national halal certification mark to ensure accurate auditing and compliance. This framework will also entail regular inspection of halal products to verify their adherence to national standards, specifications, and technical regulations, as well as monitoring all manufacturing and distribution processes within the Kingdom.
The Minister highlighted that positioning Bahrain as an international hub for the halal industry would open new export opportunities for Bahraini halal products in global markets, thereby fostering investment in this promising sector. He underlined that the decision aligns with the Ministry's ongoing efforts to ensure Bahraini products meet the highest quality standards. It also allows local factories to obtain the "Bahraini Halal" certification, enhancing Bahrain's reputation as a key supporter of the halal products market and boosting competitiveness within the domestic halal sector.
HE Al Mubarak expressed confidence that this decision would strengthen Bahrain's ability to export halal products to global markets, thereby solidifying the Kingdom's regional and international standing in the halal industry. He added that the initiative would support local food industries through collaboration with the Ministry of Industry and Commerce and the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Additionally, the decision encourages innovation in halal products while opening new markets for import and export.
The Minister praised the cooperation of various government entities, particularly the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, as well as other relevant authorities, for their role in shaping this decision. He affirmed that such collaborative efforts would bolster Bahrain's position as a leader in the halal industry within the region.
The decision is expected to stimulate significant growth in the halal sector, enabling Bahrain to tap into a lucrative global market while driving innovation and maintaining high standards for halal-certified products.
