His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, reaffirmed Bahrain’s unwavering gratitude to the nation’s martyrs during the annual Commemoration Day ceremony held yesterday at Sakhir Palace.

In his address, HM King Hamad lauded the sacrifices of Bahrain’s martyrs, describing them as a “source of pride for Bahrain and a beacon for future generations.” He reiterated, “We will never forget their sacrifices, for they are the true heroes of our nation.”

The solemn event, observed annually on December 17th, was attended by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and Prime Minister, alongside senior officials, military personnel, and the families of the martyrs.

Honouring Bravery and Dedication
In his royal speech, HM King Hamad highlighted the significance of Commemoration Day, which honours the bravery and dedication of those who gave their lives in the pursuit of justice, sovereignty, and humanitarian causes.

“The families of the martyrs embody the highest examples of patriotism and steadfastness,” His Majesty noted, praising their courage and resilience.

HM King Hamad also commended the solidarity of Bahraini citizens, who collectively honour each martyr as a cherished son of the nation.

National Gratitude and Support
Expressing deep appreciation for Bahrain’s armed forces and security institutions, His Majesty said, “The valor of our armed forces and security personnel is unparalleled, as they defend the dignity of the homeland and protect its people with courage and determination.”

The ceremony featured a sermon by Sheikh Adnan bin Abdullah Al-Qattan, who led prayers for the martyrs and for Bahrain’s continued prosperity under His Majesty’s leadership. The symbolic watering of a palm tree, representing eternal life, concluded the event.

A Nation United in Remembrance
The ceremony also included a cavalry procession, artillery salutes, and a patriotic aerial display by the Royal Bahraini Air Force, symbolizing loyalty to the martyrs of duty.

“May God have mercy on our righteous martyrs and perpetuate the security, prosperity, and strength of Bahrain,” HM King Hamad concluded, reaffirming Bahrain’s commitment to honouring their sacrifices and supporting their families.
