Bahrain’s 3rd Edition of MOI ATP Tennis Challenger Recognized as Best Asia-Pacific Championship

In a remarkable achievement for Bahrain's sports scene, the 3rd edition of the Interior Minister ATP Tennis Challenger has won the prestigious Best Asia-Pacific Championship Award, presented by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP). The event, held in February 2024, marked a significant milestone for Bahrain, solidifying its growing status as a premier host of international sports events.
The tournament, which featured world-class players, was ultimately claimed by Kazakhstani tennis star Mikhail Kukushkin. The competition showcased not only exceptional athletic talent but also the Kingdom's commitment to supporting and elevating sports on a global stage.
On the occasion of the award, Shaikh Khalid bin Rashid Al Khalifa, the General Supervisor of the MOI Tennis Challenger, expressed his gratitude and congratulations to His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, for his tireless support and dedication to promoting sports in Bahrain. Shaikh Khalid highlighted His Highness’s invaluable contributions, which played a crucial role in bringing the event to such an esteemed international level.
Shaikh Khalid also extended his appreciation to His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, for his ongoing efforts in enhancing Bahraini sports and his commitment to fostering international recognition.
Special recognition was also given to His Excellency Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa for his unwavering support and continuous follow-up on the tournament's progress. Shaikh Rashid’s dedication to providing the necessary facilities and infrastructure helped ensure the success of the event and further demonstrated the Ministry’s commitment to positioning Bahrain as an international sports destination.
In addition, Shaikh Khalid praised the efforts of the Public Security Sports Association and the Public Security Officers Club for their pivotal role in ensuring the competition’s success. He emphasized the teamwork and collaboration among all involved parties, which contributed to this remarkable achievement and added another significant milestone to Bahrain’s sports accomplishments.
