The Ministry of Electricity and Water Affairs revealed that the Electricity and Water Authority (EWA) has established a holding company named the National Electricity and Water Holding Company. This company aims to own or participate in investments and companies operating within the electricity and water sectors, as well as other related fields.
Importantly, this development will not directly affect the services provided to citizens, nor will it impact the current operations of the Electricity and Water Authority or its employees, the Ministry revealed. This came in a response from the Ministry to an inquiry from MP Eman Showaiter.
Additionally, the ministry clarified in its response that the holding company and its subsidiaries are not linked to government support for citizens regarding electricity and water bills. The government will continue to determine the support and its regulations, consistent with existing practices.
Meanwhile, the ministry stressed its commitment to implementing a comprehensive strategic plan aimed at enhancing the electricity and water sector in Bahrain in the coming period.
This initiative includes various diverse projects, primarily focusing on improving the infrastructure of both electricity and water networks. The goal is to ensure the delivery of high-quality services and meet the Kingdom's needs for electricity and water..
