Bahrain Launches Joint Maritime Exercise "Vigilant Guard 13"

The Chief of Public Security, His Excellency Major General Tariq bin Hassan Al Hassan, inaugurated the joint maritime exercise "Vigilant Guard 13", which brings together various departments of the Ministry of Interior, the Royal Bahrain Naval Force, and the National Guard. The exercise aims to assess readiness levels in ensuring the security of Bahrain’s territorial waters and coastline—a key aspect of the Coast Guard’s mission—and to enhance field coordination and the execution of joint security operations between military and security agencies.
During the event, HE Major General Tariq bin Hassan Al Hassan received a detailed briefing on the exercise’s objectives and stages. The three-day exercise includes a comprehensive review of operational plans and inter-agency collaboration.
The demonstration highlighted the high capabilities and field expertise of the participating teams, showcasing their ability to work in harmony during security missions to safeguard vital facilities, combat smuggling and infiltration, and maintain maritime safety. These efforts reflect adherence to best practices in security and training to achieve the highest levels of readiness and efficiency.
HE Major General Tariq bin Hassan Al Hassan expressed his appreciation for the directives of His Excellency Lieutenant General Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, emphasizing the importance of leveraging the exercise to meet strategic goals and ensuring effective coordination in implementing security plans to address maritime challenges.
The Chief of Public Security praised the cooperation between security and military agencies involved in the exercise, commending the high level of preparedness and the realistic nature of the drills. He lauded the professionalism of officers and personnel from the Coast Guard, the Royal Bahrain Naval Force, and the National Guard, along with other participating entities, for their disciplined and integrated performance in carrying out assigned tasks to ensure maritime security and safety.
HE Major General Tariq bin Hassan Al Hassan emphasized the importance of continuing such joint exercises to develop human resources, improve performance, and facilitate the exchange of expertise in this vital domain. He expressed his confidence in the participants’ ability to achieve the desired outcomes and wished them success in their efforts.
