Nakshatra Sudheesh, a fourth-grade student at the Indian School, has set an inspiring example by donating a portion of her hair to the Bahrain Cancer Society. The donation will be used to make wigs for cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy, helping them cope with hair loss during treatment.

Nakshatra, the daughter of Sudheesh and Subita from Othalur, Malappuram, handed over her hair at a special event held at the Bahrain Cancer Society. Present at the occasion were the organisation’s treasurer, Youssef Fakhroo, and secretary, Fatima Al Khan, along with Nakshatra's proud parents.

The family reached out to the Cancer Care Group, a branch of the Bahrain Cancer Society, to express their interest in supporting the cause. They were guided on how to prepare the donation, which requires hair to be at least 21 cm in length.

The Bahrain Cancer Society provides wigs free of charge to cancer patients, including children, as part of its commitment to supporting individuals battling the disease.

Those inspired by Nakshatra’s gesture and interested in donating hair can contact Cancer Care Group General Secretary K.T. Salim at 33750999 for further details.

Nakshatra’s selfless act stands as a shining example of compassion, proving that even small actions can make a significant difference in the lives of others.
