The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) announced the completion of 272 inspection campaigns and visits from 15 to 21 December 2024. These efforts led to the detention of 39 workers found to be in violation of regulations, while 95 violators were deported.

The LMRA also identified a range of violations related to the Labour Market Regulatory Authority and Residency Laws in Bahrain, with legal action taken against those found in breach.

Of the total inspections, 261 visits were carried out across various shops in all governorates, and 11 joint inspection campaigns were conducted. These included 8 campaigns in the Capital Governorate, 1 in Muharraq Governorate, and 2 in the Southern Governorate.

The Ministry of Interior participated in these campaigns through the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA), alongside the respective Police Directorates, the General Directorate of Crime Detection and Forensic Evidence, the General Directorate of Verdict Enforcement and Alternative Sentencing, and the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority.

The LMRA emphasized its continued collaboration with government agencies to intensify inspections across all governorates, addressing violations that threaten the stability, competitiveness, and social security of the Kingdom’s labour market.

The Authority urged the public to support efforts against illegal labour practices by reporting violations via its website at www.lmra.gov.bh, the LMRA call centre at 17506055, or through the government’s Suggestions and Complaints System (Tawasul).
