MP Basma Mubarak has submitted a parliamentary question to the Minister of Justice Nawaf Al Maawda, demanding greater transparency regarding the procedures for constructing places of worship in Bahrain. The detailed inquiry seeks clarification on various aspects of the process.
The MP's question focuses on the methods used to allocate land for mosques and other religious facilities, specifically addressing land within new housing projects and land designated as waqf (religious endowments).
It also requests a timeline for the approval process, outlining the criteria for accepting or rejecting applications. Furthermore, MP Mubarak seeks information on any pending applications, including reasons for delays in processing.
Finally, the MP stressed the importance of clarifying the coordination mechanisms between the Ministry of Justice and other relevant authorities, such as the Ministry of Housing and the Urban Planning and Development Authority, to ensure the efficient and effective fulfillment of citizens' needs for the construction of mosques and places of worship throughout the Kingdom.
The Minister of Justice's response to this parliamentary question is expected to clarify the procedures followed and dispel any ambiguity surrounding this vital issue.
