Ties sought to pass health laws in meet

With a view to broadening cooperation between the Executive and Legislative branches in passing health legislation and laws, Information and Parliament Affairs Minister Isa bin Abdulrahman Al Hammadi held discussions with President of the Supreme Council for Health (SCH) Lieutenant-General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa here yesterday.

The ways to enhance the existing fruitful cooperation between the SCH and the Ministry was also discussed in the meeting with the Minister, who led a delegation from the Ministry. 

The SCH President lauded the key role played by the Information and Parliament Affairs Ministry in highlighting the bright image and the civilisational achievements of the Kingdom. 

The two sides praised the unlimited support allocated to health projects by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Prime Minister HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa. 

The SCH President and the Minister reviewed a number of key issues, particularly the National Health Insurance Programme, which the Kingdom is going to implement in the coming period. They stressed the importance of the scheme and the need to enhance coordination between the Executive and the Legislature regarding health laws and legislation.

Abdulla Al Khalifa informed the Minister on the efforts of the SCH and all health sectors in the Kingdom to implement the health theme of the Government Action Plan, as well as the initiatives aiming to upgrade health services.

Al Hammadi lauded the outstanding efforts exerted by the Supreme Council for Health and the key projects it was implementing. 

He reiterated the Ministry’s readiness to ensure the success of health projects, especially the National Health Insurance Programme, given its positive role in improving the quality of health services delivered to the citizens and residents.
