Shura Council to Debate Investment Pact with Hong Kong

Shura Council is set to debate an investment protection and promotion agreement with Hong Kong, marking the Kingdom’s 39th such accord to boost foreign investment and economic growth. The agreement, issued under Decree No. 41 of 2024, seeks to enhance financial and economic cooperation between Bahrain and Hong Kong.
The Shura Council’s Committee for Foreign Affairs, Defence, and National Security has reviewed the draft law, emphasizing its potential to create favourable conditions for businesses from both regions.
Bahrain has already signed 38 similar agreements with nations including China, Japan, the United Kingdom, the United States, France, Russia, Singapore, Germany, and Turkey, according to the committee’s report.The Ministry of Finance and National Economy has expressed full support for the proposed law, citing its alignment with Bahrain’s efforts to strengthen international partnerships.
