Fans of Bahrain’s national football team will have free buses to Kuwait for Tuesday’s Gulf Cup semi-final, thanks to a collective effort led by Speaker Ahmed Al Musallam and three MPs.
Al Musallam, alongside Hanan Fardan, Hassan Ibrahim, and Mamdouh Al Saleh, announced the plan to help supporters cheer on the national team as they take on Kuwait in the semi-finals of the 26th Arabian Gulf Cup.
Transport arrangements have been tailored to local communities. Al Musallam has secured two buses for residents of Al Hidd. Fardan prioritised fans from 12th district in the Northern Governorate, while Ibrahim also organised two buses for his constituents. Al Saleh focused on District 3 in the Capital Governorate, covering Jidhafs, Daih, and Sanabis.
Meanwhile, the Bahrain Football Association (BFA) is working to expand transport options with support from businesses and government entities. The BFA called on companies to lend a hand in covering the costs, praising their track record of backing sports and rallying behind national causes.
The semi-final, set for Tuesday, 31 December 2024, will see Bahrain face Kuwait, the runner-up of Group A. A victory could send the team to the final, raising hopes for a triumphant finish to the tournament.
Businesses willing to contribute to the effort have been encouraged to reach out to Jawaher Al Dhaen, the BFA’s marketing representative, at 34247806. The association emphasised the importance of coming together to support the team, with fans playing a key role in boosting morale during these crucial matches.
