Shakhura Park Set to Reopen in 30 Days After Extensive Renovation
Shakhura Park, located in Block 481 of the Shakhura area, is scheduled to reopen to the public within 30 days, according to Northern Municipal Council representative for the fifth constituency in the Northern Governorate, Tariq Al Farsani. He stated that renovation work is progressing rapidly to meet this deadline.
The upgrades, which benefit all residents of the fifth constituency, include a complete repainting of the park, replacement of restrooms, and a full refurbishment of the existing sports facilities. This encompasses the football, basketball, and volleyball courts.
Mr Al Farsani highlighted additional improvements, stating, "We will also be installing shade structures over the children's playgrounds to protect them from the sun and allow them to play during the morning hours. This is part of our ongoing efforts to provide play spaces for all children in the district, encouraging a culture of physical activity and participation in various sports."
Furthermore, the park's lighting will be powered by solar energy, reflecting Bahrain's commitment to renewable energy. Mr Al Farsani explained, "We have prioritised this approach in line with the Kingdom's efforts to adopt renewable energy and achieve carbon neutrality."
In closing, Mr Al Farsani expressed his sincere gratitude to the Minister of Municipalities Affairs, Engineer Wael Mubarak; the Undersecretary of Municipalities Affairs, Engineer Shaikh Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Khalifa; and the Director General of the Northern Municipality, Engineer Lamia Al Fadala, for their unwavering support and assistance in completing the renovation of this vital community project.
