A group of MPs has proposed transforming restored historic homes and landmarks across the Kingdom into cafes, restaurants, and other attractions. The initiative, led by MPs Basma Mubarak, Jalal Kadhem, Ahmed Al Salloom, Dr. Hisham Al Ashiri, and Jalila Al Sayed, aims to enhance tourism and create year-round events.

The proposal stresses that the government would fully restore all buildings before opening them to investment. The MPs highlighted the importance of preserving Bahrain's cultural identity through its historical architecture and expanding the concept of heritage villages to all governorates.

The memorandum further suggests that these projects could generate substantial new revenue for the state, recognising tourism as a vital source of income. The MPs also believe the initiative would create numerous job opportunities for Bahraini citizens.
