The Minister of Interior, His Excellency General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa yesterday attended the conclusion of the joint maritime exercise of the Coast Guard “Vigilant Guardian 13”.
The Chief of Public Security, Lt-General Tariq Al Hassan, and Acting Commander of the Coast Guard attended the event.
The drill involved the Royal Bahraini Naval Force, the National Guard, and various directorates of the Ministry of Interior.
Preparedness
It aimed to evaluate preparedness to promote the security of vital waterfront facilities and tackle trafficking to promote maritime safety and security.
The Interior Minister was briefed about the organisation and control committee and the implementation process in light of the exercise’s scenarios.
He hailed effective field coordination in implementing joint security plans and operations to confront maritime challenges.
Excellence
General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah thanked the organisers of this remarkable exercise and their ongoing excellence in previous drills.
The Minister highlighted the significance of focusing during the upcoming exercises on services provided by the Coast Guard to seafarers to protect their security and safety through realistic scenarios and specific goals.
He said that such exercises contribute to enhancing performance, exchanging expertise, and efficiently dealing with regional water protection challenges to move forward and reinforce strategic capabilities.
Joint fieldwork
General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah affirmed the importance of continuing with training, capability building, reviewing procedures, promoting cooperation and coordination, and developing joint fieldwork.
The Interior Minister highlighted the importance of promoting maritime safety and security through securing tourist areas and islands to enhance services and secure national economic facilities.
He wished all the best to all efforts to protect the security and safety of the nation.
