Bahrain Football Team Receives Over BHD 1.2 Million Following Gulf Cup Success

The Bahrain national football team, fresh from their Gulf Cup title, has been showered with financial support totaling BHD 1,206,000 from various benefactors and sponsors. This marks a remarkable recognition of their achievement in clinching the prestigious trophy for only the second time in the nation's history.

A Special Celebration on Bahrain TV

In honor of the team’s win at the 26th Gulf Cup in Kuwait, Bahrain TV launched a dedicated program to celebrate the champions. Hosted by prominent presenter Maryam Bu Kamal, the show airs live every evening at 9 PM for a week, featuring interviews with key members of the Bahrain Football Association and the victorious squad.

Royal and Institutional Contributions

Crown Prince and Prime Minister, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, led the support with a generous BHD 200,000 contribution. Other significant contributions included:

• BHD 100,000 from His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the King's Personal Representative.
• BHD 100,000 from His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs.
• BHD 100,000 from His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Chairman of the General Sports Authority.

Private Sector Generosity

Corporate supporters also rallied behind the team, showing the unity between sports and the private sector.

• Bahrain National Bank, Alba, Bapco Energies, BBK, and BEYON each contributed BHD 100,000, adding up to BHD 500,000.
• Additional donations came from Benefit Bahrain (BHD 26,000) and Nass Group (BHD 20,000)

• Bank Al Salam: BHD 100,000
• GFH Financial Group: BHD 50,000
• GPIC: BHD 40,000
