Details were unveiled yesterday during a press conference held at the Bahrain National Stadium yesterday, where speakers emphasized the unifying power of sports.
Dr. Abdulrahman Askar, along with representatives from the General Sports Authority and the Bahrain Sports Federation, highlighted the importance of this annual event, which will take place in February. "Bahrain Sports Day is not just for sports people but for everyone looking to take a step toward a healthier life," Dr. Askar remarked, stressing that the day will only be a success if it inspires people to break free from sedentary habits.
The event’s inclusivity was a key theme, with activities tailored for children, teenagers, and elders alike. Sama Bay will serve as the main venue, hosting a variety of activities, while events will also take place across Bahrain to ensure everyone can participate. Organizers are also taking cues from the Gulf Cup success and Muharraq Nights to add a festival-like atmosphere, complete with food vendors, family-friendly games, and tourist attractions.
Adding to the excitement is the "Unity Kick-Off," a charity match scheduled for January 31 at 7:30 PM at the Bahrain National Stadium. This friendly game will feature football legends such as John Terry, Roberto Carlos, and Dimitar Berbatov, alongside social media influencers, making it a star-studded event that celebrates togetherness.
