Bahrain International Trophy: A Thrilling Third Round Showcases Top Talent and Prestigious Honors

The third round of the fourth edition of the Bahrain International Trophy, held under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, captivated horse racing enthusiasts at the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club (REHC). The event, part of the 13th race of the 2024/2025 season, featured a series of high-profile races and brought together prominent figures and racing aficionados.
The evening was graced by the presence of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs, and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), along with His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of SCYS, Chairman of the General Sports Authority (GSA), and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC).
Among the highlights were races for the prestigious HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa Cup and other notable trophies, including the Cups of HH Shaikh Hamad bin Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, HH Shaikh Abdullah bin Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, and HH Shaikh Salman bin Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, alongside the Al Adiyat Cup, Al Wasmiya Cup, and Huntsman Cup.
Honoring the Winners
The evening’s trophies were awarded by distinguished guests, including HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, who crowned the winners of several races. Key awards included:
Second Race: Trainer George Scott, presented by HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
Third Race: HH Shaikh Isa bin Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa, presented by HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
Fourth Race: Trainer Haider Ebrahim, presented by HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
Fifth Race: Trainer George Scott, presented by Taj Phull, General Manager of Huntsman.
Sixth Race: Jockey Seamie Heffernan, presented by HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
HH Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa presented the first race trophy to Trainer Jaffar Marzooq, while Ahmed Fawzi Kanoo, Board Member of the National Bank of Bahrain, presented the Al Wasmiya Cup to owner Hasan Abdulla after Ava Go Joe clinched victory in the fifth race.
Victorious Team Triumphs
In a standout moment of the evening, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, leader of the Victorious Team, received the Al Adiyat Cup after Phantom Flight, owned by the team, secured first place in the sixth race. The trophy was presented by Fawzi Ahmed Kanoo, Deputy Chairman of Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo Group, and Nabeel Khalid Kanoo, Chairman of Kanoo Capital.
The Bahrain International Trophy continues to demonstrate the Kingdom’s commitment to excellence in equestrian sports, drawing elite competitors and fostering a vibrant racing culture. The third round was a testament to the event’s prestige and growing international stature.
