Bahrain's Deputy PM Highlights Art's Role in Preserving National Identity

His Excellency Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, emphasized that purposeful art in poetry, singing, and composing, when dedicated to serving national principles, reflects the historical and cultural identity of the Kingdom of Bahrain. He noted that art serves as a vital tool for preserving and documenting the achievements realized during the comprehensive development journey initiated 25 years ago under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of Bahrain, with the support and guidance of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
His Excellency highlighted that art, in its various forms, is an integral part of cultural development, which Bahraini artists embody through their creative works that are passed down through generations. Over time, these works have become a lasting legacy in Bahrain's national memory, encompassing values and meanings that strengthen unity and national belonging.
This statement came during a meeting held by His Excellency at Gudaibiya Palace this morning, in the presence of His Excellency Dr. Ramzan bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Minister of Information, and several senior officials. The meeting brought together a group of Bahraini art pioneers, where His Excellency expressed pride in the invaluable contributions of these artists throughout their careers. Their dedication to preserving Bahrain's authentic identity and heritage, and their role in enriching the literary and cultural landscape, has been pivotal in shaping the artistic movement in Bahrain, which continues to receive significant support and care.
His Excellency also praised the artists' meaningful participation in events celebrating Bahrain's National Day and other cultural occasions, which witnessed remarkable public attendance. He commended the initiatives led by the Ministry of Information and the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities to preserve national art and involve Bahraini artists in these celebrations.
Dr. Ramzan bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Minister of Information, expressed gratitude for the Deputy Prime Minister’s gracious gesture in hosting the pioneers of Bahraini art. He affirmed that this initiative reflects the government's commitment to honoring creative individuals in various cultural and artistic fields, recognizing their rich contributions to the nation's artistic journey.
The Minister lauded the pioneering role of these artists in establishing and enriching Bahrain's artistic movement. Their distinguished works have left a lasting impact, enhancing Bahrain’s position in the arts and showcasing its authentic cultural identity.
