The Indian School, Bahrain (ISB), is set to embark on a monumental journey to mark its 75th anniversary, a milestone that celebrates decades of academic excellence, cultural diversity, and community service. The year-long celebrations will kick off on Thursday, January 23, with a colourful inaugural ceremony at the school’s Isa Town campus.
The event will feature the unveiling of the Platinum Jubilee logo, a symbol that will guide the celebrations throughout the year, bringing together students, parents, staff, and alumni in a shared celebration of the school’s rich legacy.
The platinum jubilee celebrations are being organized by committees led by former chairman Prince S Natarajan and community leader Muhammed Hussain Malim who are working in close collaboration with the school's leadership to ensure this milestone year is celebrated with grandeur, while upholding the values of unity, diversity, and excellence.
Hon. Chairman, Adv. Binu Mannil Varughese, highlighted the significance of the occasion. “Our school has been a nurturing ground for thousands of students from diverse cultural backgrounds. In our school, we are proud to have students from every state and union territory of India, as well as from a variety of nationalities, creating a truly diverse and vibrant community that reflects a global outlook,” he said.
The celebrations will be marked by a series of exciting events, each designed to honour ISB’s history and its impact on the community. A major highlight will be the Aalekh Painting Contest, where students from 75 schools across the Gulf will gather at the Isa Town campus to display their artistic talents.
In addition to the painting contest, the school will organize a series of workshops and contests that encourage artistic and literary expression. These will include creative writing contests, poster design workshops, and an Education Conclave that will bring together leading educators and experts to discuss the latest trends in the education sector.
The celebrations will also feature a Literary Festival, with a unique book exhibition in 75 languages, showcasing the linguistic diversity that is a hallmark of Indian culture. The festival will provide students, teachers, and the community with an opportunity to engage with literature from across India and the world, highlighting the importance of reading, writing, and cultural exchange.
One of the most anticipated events will be a record-breaking dance performance at the National Stadium, where students will perform 75 different dance forms, each representing the cultural richness of India. This spectacular event is expected to be a visual and cultural treat, bringing together students of all ages to celebrate the diversity and unity that ISB stands for.
The celebrations will also feature a Global Alumni Meet, aimed at reconnecting former students with the school. This gathering will offer alumni the opportunity to share their experiences, contribute to the school’s future growth, and strengthen their ties with the institution. Alumni are invited to register via a Google form circulated through the media, ensuring that the event is accessible to former students across the globe.
In line with its commitment to continued growth, ISB will also undertake infrastructure development projects at its Isa Town campus. These initiatives will enhance the school’s facilities, ensuring that it remains at the forefront of educational excellence for future generations of students. Throughout the year, a range of community events, including sports competitions, quiz contests, and a cultural fair, will engage students, teachers, and parents alike.
The Platinum Jubilee celebrations will culminate in a year of shared joy and pride, laying the foundation for an exciting future for the Indian School, Bahrain.
