A cache of 439 narcotic pills, hidden in clayfilled electronic games, has led to the arrest of a 24-year-old Asian man.

The drugs were discovered after a Bahraini couple mistakenly received the suspicious parcel, which was supposed to contain cosmetics ordered online.

The wife of the reporting man had purchased cosmetics from an overseas website. When the parcel arrived, the couple noticed its large size and unexpected weight. Upon opening it, they found electronic games instead of cosmetics.

Examining one of the games, they saw it had four screw holes, with one screw missing. After dismantling the game, they uncovered a clay-wrapped package concealing the pills.

The Anti-Narcotics Directorate took charge, finding nine small nylon bags inside the games, packed with the suspected narcotics.

Investigators determined the parcel had been addressed to someone else.

Further inquiries revealed the suspect had ordered the shipment and was reportedly using concealed methods to smuggle drugs into Bahrain.
