The Ministry of Interior has revealed that 13,725 traffic violations were recorded against motorcyclists over the past four years, along with the impoundment of 346 motorcycles during the same period due to severe infractions committed by their riders.

The ministry emphasized its commitment to strictly monitoring traffic violations, particularly those involving motorcycles used for delivery services such as food and other orders.

In a report submitted to the Council of Representatives, the ministry provided detailed statistics on violations recorded by the General Directorate of Traffic. In 2020, 2,378 violations were reported, increasing to 3,227 in 2021, and further to 3,932 in 2022. By November 21, 2023, the number of recorded violations had risen to 4,188, following intensified enforcement campaigns.

The ministry noted that administrative measures under the Traffic Law were strictly implemented to address violations. As a result, 364 motorcycles used for delivery services were impounded due to serious breaches of the law.

In its efforts to regulate the behavior of motorcyclists, the ministry highlighted its adherence to the executive regulations of the Traffic Law, which mandate technical specifications for delivery motorcycles equipped with boxes. These regulations also address health and safety standards.

Additionally, the ministry underscored its awareness initiatives, including campaigns, programs, and traffic safety lectures aimed at delivery riders. These efforts, part of the "Ride Safe" campaign, are designed to promote compliance with traffic laws and reduce accidents, thereby ensuring the safety of riders and other road users.

In collaboration with delivery companies, the ministry organized over 30 awareness lectures in 2023, benefiting more than 1,500 delivery riders. These sessions focused on educating riders about traffic rules and safe driving practices.
