A new report reveals a significant 106% increase in the number of cruise ships visiting the Kingdom of Bahrain in 2024 compared to the previous year. According to the statistics, 34 cruise ships docked in Bahrain last year, bringing with them tens of thousands of tourists, with an average of 2,500 passengers per ship.
In contrast, only 16 cruise ships visited Bahrain in 2023, while 2022 saw just seven ships due to the global travel slowdown caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Notably, no cruise ships arrived in Bahrain in 2021.
The report highlights a marked rise in cruise activity in 2024, with December recording the highest number of arrivals at 12 ships. January followed closely with eight ships, while February and March each saw six arrivals.
Bahrain's cruise ship season typically runs from November to April, attracting luxury vessels from around the globe. This growth underscores Bahrain's status as a leading tourist destination in the region.
